Men Of God Upgrading the Lives of Sinners, better known as M.O.G.U.L.S., was founded by the independent record label and entertainment company, Real Records, in December 2009.
The two rappers of the group attended an open audition held by Real Records. This audition, initially for solo artists, jump started the group. The label executives were impressed with their delivery of the Holy Word through an art form popular with the secular world. The rappers, Patrick Moore (P.T.) and Christopher Davis, Jr. (D’Mystro!) were all but complete. They possessed lyrics to inspire, but they needed a component that most hip-hop artists do not possess. The label insisted that a singer be added to the group so that they could be classified and mixed with different genres of music. Gabriel Nowell-Brown (Daniel) was the latest addition to the group. He allowed for the group to not be perceived as only a “rap” group but a neo-urban gospel group, reaching the worlds of rap, hip-hop, traditional gospel, and contemporary gospel.
Although, the group has not been around very long, they quickly learned the business of music and what it takes to compel an audience to give God praise and allow Christ into their lives. They were a part of the “Real Records presents the Evolution Tour” which traveled to 7 cities in the South Carolina and surrounding areas. June 19, 2010, marks their self-titled debut CD release, which is already receiving many accolades from well-known artists and music executives. The album’s leading single, Rise Above It All, can be heard on radio stations all across the globe.
This new group will satisfy the ears of all listeners. Their music does not only entertain but it also inspires everyone with a positive message; a message that warms the heart and relaxes the mind.
M.O.G.U.L.S. has one goal in life; that is to touch the world with their music, and in the process, upgrade the lives of sinners to lives of Christians.
