Magic 1 (AKA Jesús in Chicago) first got his start on national airwaves through The Jim Rome Show back in 2008. Described by Jim Rome himself as a "prolific" writer, Magic 1 received airplay and exposure for his talents as a rapper, parody writer, and performer. After getting notoriety through The Jim Rome Show, Magic 1 came into contact with various producers and singers, and using these connections, he compiled a catalog of professionally-recorded parody songs.
In December of 2011, Magic 1 wrote his biggest hit to date, with his Jay Cutler and Player-inspired parody entitled "Cutty Come Back". The song and video went viral nationwide, and received airplay on various media outlets, including YouTube, Twitter, online blogs, sports radio stations, TV news stations, and newspaper websites.
Drawing off of the popularity of his viral hit, Magic 1 put more energy and effort into making a full length commercial album release available to the public, highlighting all of his previously recorded parodies and new songs. On July 27, 2012, he released the compilation album, entitled "The Mixtape IV".
On July 20, 2014, Magic 1 will be releasing "The Jungle Box Set". This compilation of 41 songs (plus interlude) across 4 disks includes material written and recorded exclusively for The Jim Rome Show between 2007-2014. The standout Jungle classics are all there, including "Clones WIthout A Take", "The Porno Stache", "J-Stew The Jungle Phone Slap", "Man's Game, Bitch", and "The Hackoff Anthem". Also included in the collection are the new Hackoff songs "Flabby", "Don't You Cut Me", and the never-before-released "Bags Getting Run".
