Magic 617- Boston native, born Jason Truong, recording artist, artist manager, radio personality and CEO of Scratch Out Baby Entertainment.
"Life is too short to just sit back and watch others accomplish what you wished you could."
Growing up in the Dorchester community of Boston, he experienced a lot of things early in life. Witnessing death turning friends into statistics, parent divorce, getting caught up in the justice system among others good and bad, he never allowed his obstacles and shortcomings to stop his struggle. Now much older than when he first discovered his talents, he continues to make a name for himself in his everyday hustle. Standing for his principles, he expresses it through his music.
Magic found his first passion- songwriting and recording- in his early teen years. At the age of 12 under the name FlowEtik, he started performing at open-mics, community establishments and schools- any place with a mic, sound system and people to witness it- if it would help him to get his name out, he would want to get involved in it.
"..I knew I found my passion as soon as I picked up the mic and started spitting to the crowd of 300+ what I had written to this beat- I didn't even write it for the show, I just wrote that for me. But I spit it for them..and they loved it."
At the age of 18, he connected with artists Yung Boston George, Caddy, Boogz, Prime and Shizz Dot to join Boston's Rap collective Scratch Out Baby Entertainment where he was an artist, manager and sound engineer. Using the skills he gained throughout his life, he helped Scratch Out Baby earn the name of one of the youngest, most respected underground Rap collectives in Boston.
