Mahmoud Kaabour "Al Rasheedi"

Mahmoud Kaabour was named “Al-Rasheedi” after his father, Rasheed. He trained in playing the Oud on the hands of his blind brother Muhammad and showed general excellence in learning music. He eventually picked up the violin and became Beirut’s first professional violinist. Performing along the greats of that era, he was a founding member of the first orchestra of the Lebanese national radio station. He also taught the fundamentals of Arabic violin at the Lebanese Conservatory. He passed away at age 74, leaving behind a vast contribution to Arabic music and cherished memories to those who knew him.
