"Perfect World" is Margaret MacDonald's latest digital EP release on MyRecordLabel.com. The first four songs were produced by the MyRecordLabel team led by Travis Allen based in Los Angeles, and feature Margaret on lead vocals. The music was performed by a talented group of musicians based in Nashville and backing vocals by the talented Bryon Holley of Los Angeles. The fifth song, Letting Go, was produced by Randall Michael Tobin of Theta Sound in Burbank. And the final song, Sans Vie, Margaret wrote for the opening theme to an independent feature film of the same name. The film is currently making the rounds at festivals and seeking a distribution deal.
Still 21 In My Head is the signature song on Margaret MacDonald’s album Rain on the Roof released in November 2006. Rain on the Roof is a collection of eleven of her original songs with Margaret performing vocals and piano, and features some amazing talent, including guitarist Basil Fung (played on Alanis Morrisette’s Jagged Little Pill) and Charles Waltz (fiddler for the Young Dubliners). Her collaboration with Los Angeles-based producer Randall Michael Tobin at Theta Sound in Burbank has resulted in an album with wide appeal to audiences who listen to the likes of Sarah McLachlan, Joni Mitchell and Carole King.
Margaret grew up in San Francisco listening to classical music, R&B and folk, then spent 15 years in the United Kingdom before returning to California, and her songwriting reflects all of these elements. Her songs sparkle both musically and lyrically, a rare feat these days. Songs from Rain on the Roof have been featured on Internet radio stations such as ArtistFirst Radio, NetteRadio, Pandora and many more. In fact, her song "Still 21 in My Head" was ranked number 1 in the all-time most requested song group on an internet station based in Florida. She also wrote and performed the opening theme song (in French) to an independent French film,“Sans Vie,” released in February 2009.
