Marie was born on a cold winter's night in Norway. From a very early age she discovered her love for singing and as a girl she was inspired by great vocalists such as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and Barbra Streisand.
At the age of 14 she started experimenting with writing her own lyrics and the following year she moved to Spain where she attended an international school. Two years later, at 16, she entered a singing competition where she reached the finals singing 'I will always love you' by Whitney Houston. The following year she started vocal lessons.
After completing her A-levels she decided to embark upon an Acting degree and relocated to London. During this time she developed an extensive knowledge of Musical Theatre and has a broad repertoire from that genre today. It was also during this time that she first began to familiarize herself with more classical crossover repertoire.
On receiving her BA (Hons) Acting from Thames Valley University she started regular lessons with a London based vocal coach and Marie's voice quickly became much stronger, richer and fuller. The classical quality was becoming ever more evident and it was clear that Marie was born to sing with this classical sound. Then 'Everywhere' was composed especially for her and Marie penned the lyrics, rediscovering her talent and love for lyric writing in the process.
After two years of private vocal tuition in London, Marie relocated back to Spain where she continued to develop her voice through regular coaching and studying new repertoire including opera.
At present Marie is working on new material for her debut album in London and is seeking to establish herself within the classical crossover genre.
