Marinda started as an electronic lounge seductress in the noughties. Solari started as a cover band crooner in the nineties. Combined they're Montréal's genre-busting duo Marinda & Solari; purveyors of tongue-in-cheek odes to the absurdity of popular music, identity, wealth & poverty. With voices that relate not unlike a trumpet and baritone sax, their presentation is typically stripped to the bones, featuring only Solari's percussive, Latin-tinged classical guitar as accompaniment.
Their debut release Motif (2010) helped them gain notoriety in Québec where they were featured as 'Duo of the hour' at the 2011 Montréal International Jazz Festival and were selected as Le Devoir's 'Nos Choix' alongside Marc Ribot.
2012 saw their biggest European tour to date with 16 showcases in 14 cities, among them Paris, Berlin, Köln and Geneva.
They are currently working on another body of original compositions to be set to orchestra for their new release 'Another Country'.
