Mario Cazeneuve, Born in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Keyboards and composer
A native of Montevideo, Uruguay, Mario, studding classical music at the Conservatory Johannes Brahms in Montevideo. Influenced by the Beatles and during his early teens joined a rock band. This allowed him to explore his creative side as a composer and he switched to guitar/ bass and added singing to his credits. He was part of the Uruguayan Rock Cultural movement, playing with such groups as “Les Demons”, “Scream”, “Bruja”.
Looking for more musical opportunities, Mario moved to New York City and went back to his first love, the piano. He worked as a musical director for the house bands at “Chateau Madrid”, “Havana Village”, “Chibcha”, “Oscar’s Restaurant Night Club”, “Anoranzas” , “Bistro Latino”, etc.
In addition to his solo work, he performed in the pit band of several Broadway shows, such as “Tropicana”, and, more recently, with the internationally acclaimed Luis Bravo “Forever Tango” a Broadway musical revue.
He is consummate musician and song writer with over fifteen years of experience as a keyboardist and freelance arranger and composer. During the years living and working in New York, Mario was exposed to the cultural exchange, which broadened his interests to include jazz and Cuban music.
Mario’s compositions received second place in the Long Island Music Festival sponsored by “The Good Times Entertainment Newspaper”. Another set of original compositions “Te estremeces” and “Pa’ Delante” are featured in “Dharma”. He has also recorded the “Latin Project", this is a compilation of work showcasing his talent as a versatile composer and arranger.
Afro-dysia debut album “A mi Tierra” received positive reviews with local and international airplay. Their 2nd CD “Resolution” will be shortly released.
the recently released a Spanish project “ De mi punto de vista” is a compilation of thirteen songs.
The next recording is a Candombe (Uruguayan rhythms) a bi-lingual project called “Con un mate en la mano”.
