Mark Bowers began playing piano at the age of six and composing shortly thereafter. His father instilled the basics of music theory and piano technique. Regular public performance began at the age of thirteen at his father's church, and his skill blossomed.
Although receiving little formal training, the little he did he retained. One year of piano instruction from Henry Wilczynski, former piano teacher of The Carpenters, and one year of music theory in college helped Mark Bowers hone his sound from tritely simplistic to powerfully passionate.
His debut CD, One Day, is filled with an hour of emotionally-driven ethereal piano and some minimalist orchestrations. With fans throughout Europe and North America, and some scattered in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean, Mark Bowers is bringing emotionally-packed music to the world.
Nine out of ten listeners to Mark’s music exclaim that “this sounds just like a soundtrack,” so now Mark is moving away from just solo piano which is prevalent in his debut CD and concentrating on “letting out” the soundtracks within.
