Mark Bowman

Coming from a longtime tradition of acoustic music Mark Bowman is a modern day folk style singer with his own organic brand of Americana. The Maine based singer / songwriter plays locally and has put together his recent recording "Salty Blues" in a small room studio in his hometown on Chebeague Island. Mark is a multi instrumentalist who started on guitar at a young age and has progressed to now playing mandolin, harmonica, fiddle, and various other musical devices. His sound is inspired by some of the early folk and bluegrass styles from the roots of American music but has no boundaries. With a collection of original songs he's continually writing and working on new material. His first release "Flood Tide" is an exploration into combining modern digital sampling and loop technology with acoustic folk ideas and instruments. The artist has since returned back to basics, digging in to the roots of jug band style in his most recent album "Salty Blues". The songs are thematically fun and folky in nature, and also cover a wide variety of topics from runaway lovers to bootlegging whiskey. Mark's music is upbeat and full of string pickin' /wailin' harmonica chaos!
