The CHRISTOS ISLA™ cd was produced by Mark J. Herrick.
The songs were composed and arranged by him as well.
Mark Herrick was born in Lansing, Michigan.
He has a strong family heritage in the fine arts and music.
Mark's grandfather was an architect. He designed several churches
and public schools in the Lansing area. His grandfather also designed
the original state parks in Michigan. His father played trumpet in the
Sexton High School Band and later became a vice president of a bank
in downtown Lansing. His mother plays the piano and is a well know
portrait artist. Both parents are still living at eighty-one years old.
Mark excelled at music and art in high school.
During his high school years he joined a rock and roll band called; The Grains of Sand.
Mark sang and played guitar.
After high school, he was hired by Michigan State University to be
the technical illustrator for the chemistry department. During this
time Mark made friends with two music professors Bea Mangino
and Owen Jorgensen. While working at Michigan State Mark developed
an interest in creating an applied music chart. He wondered why there
wasn't a music chart like the Period Table Of Elements used in chemistry?
Mark spent several years researching and developing a new
visual approach for learning applied harmony. Over the last few years Mark
has developed the new Visual Harmony™ theory and presented it in a classroom reference chart
called; The MASTER HARMONY CHART™ and also created
a two an a half hour animated cartoon music course called;
Major Harmony's - Supersonic Music Course 1.
Cartoons, colors and geometric box patterns teach the essential music formulas
and show the complete integrated system of functional harmony.
Michigan State Music Professor - Bea Mangino edited this work.

In 1986, Mark moved to Sarasota, Florida were he lived for several years.
One day, while Mark was in a beach-side shop looking at some seashells,
He discovered a seashell with the face of Christ in the shell.
Mark kept the shell for over twenty five years not knowing exactly what to do with it.
He did not want to exploit the shell for mere profit or fame and always
felt there must be some kind of higher purpose for the shell that
would really help others.
Over the last four years Mark has been composing a new form of island music.
The songs all have strong latin beats and are sung both in English and Spanish.
Mark called his work CHRISTOS ISLA MUSICA or; CHRIST ISLAND MUSIC.
Twelve original songs are presented with a beautiful island theme -
Passport to Paradise - CHRISTOS ISLA™.
During the composing of these songs Mark got the idea to use the
Miracle Seashell as the cover art.
