Markise Hicks & the M.O Band

Biography

MARKISE HICKS & THE MELCHIZEDEK ORDER a.k.a the MO Band

In The summer of 2004, God entrenched into a young man’s heart, His will for ministry. This man sought God daily and wrote down the vision that gave birth to, “Bringing Divine Unity Ministries”. He called his close friends to take part of the vision and within a year’s time, Markise Hicks & the Melchizedek Order a.k.a the MO Band came to fruition. In no time this group of singers became high on demand in Raleigh-Durham. Like most ensembles of this caliber, they encountered many changes, but Markise caught the revelation of who will never change. So on September 1, 2007, after much consideration, Markise decided to change the ministry. He wanted Christ to be the main focus and in all aspects and display the fullness of Christ and His excellent ministry that was presented in the Bible through the order of Melchizedek. The ministry of the Melchizedek Order Band continues to press proving itself to be an excellent ministry, sharing stages with Kirk Franklin, Deon Kipping, Tye Tribbett, Smokie Norful, Lil' Mo, etc. With their aggressive energy, vibrant and powerful sound along with their love and passion for God and for ministry, Markise and the M.O. Band has become a beacon of light to those that witness this gift in the body of Christ.

If you love good music and appreciate a ministry who has Modern Day appeal, Markise Hicks & the MO is that talented group of young singers you need to check for. This group represents the new breed of inspirational artists. Boasting a husky tenor reminiscent comparing to the like of James Fortune & Fiya, mixed with a bombastic Urban Christian Contemporary Flavor. Markise & MO picks up where Kirk Franklin left off and brilliantly connects with Tye Tribbett and many other melodious voices in Christian/Gospel music.

His newly released single titled “I’m Gonna Make It” is the new age gospel pop hit that will grab hold to the heart of any individual. Life in Raleigh N.C was tough for Markise, as a young man he had to deal with the issues of being homeless and out on the streets. Today he has learned and appreciated the old say that “Great Trials, Create Great Testimonies”. This spirit filled jingle is a true illustration of his testimony that was created during his time of despair.
