BIOGRAPHY
Marx and the Yogis’ debut album combines keys, spacey guitar solos, violin/accordion duets and groovy beats to move through complex rock compositions. Their music ranges from feel-good rock to gypsy melodies, instrumental jams, French waltzes, blues and latin rhythms.
The band started when Erica Bisbey (vocals, piano) gathered musicians to play original songs in her basement at St. Olaf College. Jeremy Aaron (drums) and Racheal Marron (violin) joined, forming the band 'Sky Lions.' Once moving to Minneapolis, Bisbey recruited Gerardo Vargas (bass) and Ryland Nelson (guitar) and changed the band name to Marx and the Yogis.
Keep the Sunrise Coming is a beautiful album combining inspired songwriting with brilliant musicianship. Marx and the Yogis continues to develop their sound, daringly moving forward into a global era of songwriting.
