Matthew Chase's third CD, EVERYTHING, brings us edgy electric and acoustic guitars, combined with a mixture of soulful, emotional and aggressive vocals – Something like Coldplay and James Blunt crashing into Filter.
Matthew Chase posthumously won the 2008 Indie Singer-Songwriter Association (ISSA) Song Contest Lyrics of the Year award for his song "Believe." EVERYTHING has the ISSA award-winning single, “Believe,” as well as ISSA final nominees Single of the Year "Feel You Near" and Best Pop song for "All You Gave."
Matthew Chase, wrote "Believe," a tender and poignant love song, for his then bride-to-be, Sarah. Sadly, just five months after the couple’s November, 2007 beachfront wedding, Matthew Chase, 33, was tragically killed off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa. A rogue wave capsized the shark diving vessel he was aboard.
Since his death, his widow Sarah Tallman, has continued the launch of his music career. Matthew Chase has recently licensed songs with MTV and the E! Network, and signed a licensing deal with ScoreKeeper's Music. Additionally, Tallman is working with existing celebrity artists to release a 4th Matthew Chase CD, entitled "Everything & After,", where a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Blue Bear School of Music in San Francisco.
Matthew Chase began writing songs for his debut CD, TOMORROW, in 2003. A compilation of eight, primarily acoustic-based songs, TOMORROW experiments with several different textures and musical styles. Building on this achievement, Chase released a more expansive and edgy CD, REMEMBER WHY, in 2006.
