Senior News Editor from NBC's Access Hollywood, describes Matt's music:
"I have been listening and giving my two cents on music longer than I care to mention. It takes a lot to get a "wow" out of me. Matt Mayer gets a "wow" out of me every time. Matt is fresh, original and always surprising. His music makes you listen then it makes you feel. Today, when so much of what we listen to feels constructed, Matt reminds you that the best music is the product of brain and heart and nerves and fingers. What Matt plays comes from him." "And watching him play is another story all together. He approaches the piano like a hungry man looking for a meal. With a smile that says 'I love this' and a swagger that says 'I am going to show you something you've never seen before.' "Matt Mayer is a star ready to shine."

"I find Mr. Mayer's music to be exceptionally soothing and healing with children experiencing symptoms of Autism, Aspergers, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder and any other little soul that walks in my office."

"When we set out to create an educational/transformational experience for women, we knew we had to find a way to touch the heart. Matthew's music does that and so much more! Everyone who has heard his music asks me how to order a CD. They want to surround themselves with the beauty."

Matt attended the University of South Dakota where he graduated with his Bachelors in Business Administration along with taking another year of formal piano training and education. After college, Matt spent a semester developing and facilitating a course at the university. The course was called 'The Business of Music' and it was a first in USD's history to combine the departments of the fine arts program and the business school for a class focused on the music industry. After teaching, Matt moved to California where he worked at NBC's entertainment television show Access Hollywood. A couple years later, he moved back to the Midwest and attained his Masters degree in Business Administration from USD. Matt currently performs to a variety of audiences, conferences, and events nationwide.
"It seems like a lot of artists are concerned about creating music that fits a niche - music for massage, music that soothes, music that uplifts, etc. - and then there are those who throw classifications to the wind and just follow their passions. Matthew Mayer is one such artist."
Kathy Parsons of solopianopublications.com, California
"This music is meant to connect with people's hearts through the medium of solo piano music... a communication in which speaks of human feeling, emotion, victory, defeat, hope, love, courage, strength, passion, wonder, drive, spirit. The unspoken experience we all go through in life. My hope is when you hear this music, that you too can feel something from it....and connects with your heart in some way" - Matt Mayer
