After playing bass guitar in a psychedelic prog rock band for a number of years, Mark Eagleton decided to get back into song writing. Influenced by artists like Silkworm, They Might Be Giants, and Sebadoh, he began a stream of conscious project where he wrote, arranged and tracked final compositions of music as they were recorded. His lyrics were written separately (using the same stream of conscious method) and later paired with appropriate tracks. He recorded and released 7 E.P.s under the name M.e. in 2000.
Although a few songs have subsequently been written and leaked to the public, he has since all but stopped releasing solo compositions in favor of playing double bass in Americana and bluegrass bands, the Bottom Dwellers and Matt & George and their Pleasant Valley Boys.
