BIOGRAPHY
Agrin ensemble started his activities five years ago in Tehran. Since then they have performed several concerts both in Iran and abroad. Agrin’s activities rely on improvisation and solo, which are the most important aspects of Iranian traditional music. The performances include melodies and developed motifs which are not pre-determined, and the melodic instrument (woodwinds, strings…) is accompanied with percussion. (Here Setar is accompanied with Tombak).In all concerts throughout different countries such as Spain,Bulgaria, Iran ,UK,… one part has been devoted to solo and improvisation, which requires a lot of practices, unanimity and mutual understanding of the two players, and direct connection with audience.
