Melancolicos Anonimos is a Venezuelan rock band formed in Caracas, Venezuela, in 2011 by Daniel Esparza, Pachi Jimenez, Luis Esparza, Sebastian Nunez, Vincenzo Vitulli and Salvador Gozzo. On their first album “Inscripciones Abiertas” (2012), the band's musical style drew on the work of American Classic Rock and renown songwriters groups including The Travelling Wilburys and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, as well as Los Rodriguez, Guasones, and other Latin American acts which has continued and evolved well into their sophomore album “El Segundo” which also adheres some Brit-Pop influences. To this musical foundation, Melancolicos Anonimos layed dark, nihilistic themes, and produces a style that is being well received in the “Rock Venezolano” Movement. Their third album "Coca y Gasolina" is filled with political content towards the Maduro regime and chavismo.
Although all members contribute to songwriting on the their Albums, Daniel Esparza and Pachi Jimenez dominated as a duo intentionally modeled on John Lennon and Paul McCartney or more like Ariel Rot and Andres Calamaro, from the acclaimed Spanish-Argentinian band “Los Rodriguez”
