Messenger® is a 4 pc. original hard rock band with a strong message. Their sound arises from Hard Rock,/Heavy Metal / Progressive Rock influences from Black Sabbath & Rush to Alter Bridge & Hinder. The original storyline lyrics are set in ethereal & progressive style metal and then sometimes just simple, hard rock & blues. They started with the present lineup; founder Frank Clifton Herring on vocals, guitar and synths, Tim 'TNT' Tieff on drums, Roy Richardson on bass and Vlad Gurin on lead guitar; in late 2008, publishing their first CD together at the turn of the next year. It took two years before that to get the right talent, partly because of the different direction they would take and partly because of a desire for a high level of skill and talent. The bold message and quality musicianship Messenger puts out leaves no question that this is something different from anything else being done today.
The new CD, 'You Choose' , started production the Summer of '11 as a band collaborative work allowing Vlad more input in the music writing than the first. Paris Hollins, as Producer, worked with Messenger on the 'You Choose' CD as he was engineer and Co-producer on the first one. At Vlad's Studio Vovka in Springfield, VA, Vlad engineered the capture tracking and Co-Produced with Frank as Paris in Studio House North in Churchton, MD mixed, produced and mastered the songs. CD release date: Oct. 23, 2012.
Messenger® has sold hundreds of CD's and DVD's since the turn of 2009 and has found internet & broadcast radio airplay in America, Australia, the U.K., Cyprus and Greece. Since April '09 www.MessengerMetal.com has had tens of thousands of visits and their MySpace Profile (MySpace.com/MessengerDC) has had tens of thousands of views in the 4 years they have been together - hits from all over the world. They bring a great show with good music & loud guitars.
The music, the musicianship, the melodies, the songwriting and growth are all a part of a larger effort to expand their audience and reach many with their songs. Working with the best professionals in the music business possible; public relations, venues, promoters and hopefully a great label soon, will allow Messenger to achieve that goal.
