Biography

Mich Gerber, composer and double-bass player, Is one of the first muslcians to work wlth Live looping systems. Following this path consequently, he defined a never heared before musical art form. But he also changed the double-bass's role and moved It fromits place in the back of the stage up front playing it as a lead Instrument.
Mich Gerber developed a very dlstlnct way of playlng his instrument, by plucklng, bowing and uslng his body as a percussive tool. He forms, In effect, a solo acoustic 'bass orchestra' and creates layers of music, weaving the whole into a rich rhythmic and melodic soundscape. Mich Gerber leads us through a world of overtones with his onglnal approach and percusslve rhythm, occasionally employing modern 'noise' effects But even though his work has contemporary fee he explores ancient rnusic to achleve his unique sound.

Mich Gerber has started his solo career in 1997 and since he released the folowing albums: Mystery bay (1997), Amor Fatl (2000), The Endless Stnng (2003) Tales Of the Wind (2004) and the fifth album "Wanderer" (2008).
