Michael Harrell was born on October 2nd, 1985 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. Raised in music city, it wasn't long before music took hold and sank it's meat hooks into his heart. After many years of banging on the family upright, he was taking formal piano lessons at age 7. However, it was an undeniable draw to the six-string guitar that really began Harrell's musical education. At age 10 his parents bought him a Lotus Strat copy and it was all downhill from there. Encouraged by his father to write from an early age, Harrell began composing his own songs rather than waste time learning things such as theory. A life changing moment occurred when his older brother gave him a double tape cassette compilation of the Beatles' greatest hits from the Beatle-mania era. Pop music, it seemed, was where his true love lied.
