Biography

Miho Wada is a well-established multi-instrumentalist and singer from Miyazaki, Japan. She has toured internationally with many groups including performances at the WOMAD festivals (New Zealand and Australia), the Love Box Festival (UK), Havana International Jazz Festival (Cuba), Tanja Latina Festival (Morocco) and Nagaoka Winter Festival (Japan).
Miho has recorded with Iggy Pop, performed with Jarvis Cocker, Nigel Kennedy, members of Buena Vista Social Club and Sierra Maestra. She was mentored by Seun Kuti while she was on tour around the world with Ska Cubano.

In 2009 Miho started her Japanese Punk Jazz (J-PJ) band based in Auckland, New Zealand. She sings her songs with quirky lyrics in English and Japanese as well as improvising on flute and saxophone. She is accompanied by the guitar, bass and drums, creating a unique mix of rock / punk / jazz / funk and contemporary world music. Their fine musicianship and explosive instrumental solos create a dynamic atmosphere that flows from the stage. Miho’s 4-piece band from New Zealand brings you a stunning mix of Asian & Pacific sounds.
