Mike Corrado Band

Biography

Singer/songwriter and U.S. Marine Mike Corrado garnered national radio and television airplay after releasing his song “On My Watch Tonight” from his 2005 release Falling Awake. The song, which features guest vocals from friend and multi-platinum artist Edwin McCain (I’ll Be/I Could Not Ask For More) is the story of a Marine’s journey from Boot Camp to the front lines, is quickly becoming an anthem for service men and women past and present around the world. Service is something Mike knows a lot about. After leaving active duty with the Marines, Mike set aside his rifle for a guitar and HUMVEE for a 15 passenger van and set out for four years of life on the road performing 200-250 shows a year. Both as a headliner and in support of such acts as John Mayer, Edwin McCain, Derek Trucks Band and many more, Mike established a strong grass roots following. On September 11, 2001, the day before embarking on an east coast tour, the plans changed. Mike was mobilized back to active duty and began training for deployment. Still finding time to write and perform while on active duty, Mike filmed and released a live concert DVD: Mike Corrado Band, Live at Thalian Hall in 2004 as well as releasing his 6th CD Falling Awake in 2005 just weeks away from leaving for a year-long deployment to Fallujah, Iraq. Upon return from deployment, Mike began work on his latest CD Start Saving Me released November 2008. 2009 was big year for Mike Corrado as he continued to blur the genre lines between rock and country. In June, Mike made a trip to Nashville during CMAFest to perform and appear in a documentary and music video for country music super star John Rich and his song “The Good Lord and the Man” then wrapped up the summer opening up for number one Billboard artists the Black Eyed Peas in Hawaii where Mike is currently stationed. Mike and his music have been featured nationally on CNN, ABC, CBS, Rolling Stone Magazine and on multiple cable Music-On-Demand channels.
