Guitarist Mike Fageros has most recently been involved with several Organ Trios dating back to Smokin on the B-3 and Melange de Jazz with Organists Robert Sanders and Travis "Big Daddy" Doyle. Midnite Tippin' was recorded in Detroit, the "Motor City" and he joined forces with Hammond Organist Chris Codish and Ron Pangborn for the Tippin' project.
Most recently, he joined forces with legendary Hammond Organist, Booker Patterson and Drummer Marion Booker for the Booker Ervin MP-3 Tribute. As well he has been seen recently in Dayton Ohio gigging at Jazz Central on East 3rd St, Dayton's legendary jazz venue with the likes of Hammond Organists Tony Monaco, Lincoln Berry, Chris Codish and Duncan McMillan.
The art of the Guitar, Organ, Drums Trio takes us back to the golden era of jazz which Fageros is re-popularizing as evidenced by the releases enumerated above and the personal appearances at jazz venues from Houston up to Dayton and Detroit where he headlined at the oldest Jazz Venue in America, Bakers Keyboard Lounge.
Mike Fageros' style of playing could be described as a cross between post modern bop, soul jazz, acid jazz, straight ahead and the avant guard without specifically belonging to any of the aforementioned catagories.
