Mindlikewater

Biography

Mindlikewater is a South Florida band that has successfully bridged the gap between: Indie, Rock, Metal, Emo, Electronica, Goth, Shoegaze, and Experimental genres. A blend of Obscure and Single-Worthy tunes. Beautiful sound-scapes contrasted with the cringe of nails on a chalk board. Mindlikewater stormed the Florida scene from 1999 to 2004 stunning crowds and playing festival shows throughout the state opening for bands like: Muse and The Faint. Their unique blend of Dissonant and Melodic tones gave Mindlikewater an edge unlike any other band on the Florida scene at that time. A see of "locals only" releases were joined by three influential albums in this time period: The Hourglass Syndrome, Curving Toward the Sun, and The Ash Angelic EP. All of which are available digitally. The band took a four or five year hiatus to pursue other music and life endeavors. Singer: Joseph Beaty and Keyboardist: Ryan Copt went on to form the electronic project, D_composure. Bassist: Joe Dyer and Guitarist: Jim Wells played in a few short lived local projects and Drummer: Joe Butera continued audio work while starting a family. ...Just as die hard fans of Mindlikewater were beginning to give up, the band began talking about a reunion show. Dreams were realized on March 28th, 2009. This marked the return of Mindlikewater at the Mojo Room in Port St. Lucie, FL. A warm and loving local crowd assured the band it was ready to become a whole again. They have released an EP in 2010 and a full length album in 2011 titled, Keep Humming Bird.
