Mind's I is: Jason Anthony (drums), Scott Herbst (bass and vocals), Jamie Hook (guitar and vocals), Tom Panei (acoustic guitar and vocals).
Mind's I evolved from the Western Pennsylvania-based band "The Weasels" in 1997. The original lineup of the group consisted of Chris Compton (drums), Scott Herbst (bass and vocals), Greg Muiter (electric guitar and lead vocals), Tom Panei (lead vocals and acoustic guitar), and Willi Stolz (harmonica and vocals). Through tireless gigging throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, as well as showcase appearances in Pittsburgh’s “Graffiti Rock Challenge” (1998 as semi-finalists, and again in 1999 as finalists capturing 3rd place overall), the 1998 Philadelphia Music Conference, and the 1999 Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, Mind’s I rose above many of their peers to become one of the most talked-about regional acts during the latter 1990’s and early 2000’s.
Mind's I has five official releases: "Where The Secret Lies" (1998 - AFM Records, Inc.), "Fearless of Ever" (1999 - self-released) "Mighty Shoves and Tiny Pushes" (2000 - Onoma Records), "Metamorphosis" (2002 - self-released), and "Train Wreck" (2010 - self-released). Shortly after the release of their debut album, Chris Compton left the band and was replaced by Jason Anthony, who remains the drummer to this day. Willi Stolz left the band shortly after the release of the debut CD as well, but was not replaced. Following Stolz's departure, the band's sound evolved from mellow acoustic strum-pop to a mixture of power-pop and jazz; the latter influence due in large measure to guitarist Greg Muiter's expanded songwriting role. Following the release of "Metamorphosis," Muiter left the band in 2003, and was replaced by Jamie Hook, who remains with the band to this day. Hook brought a far more muscular rock guitar sound to the band, which comes through on several tracks on the band's most recent album "Train Wreck."
