TrĂ¡nsito
2009
Of Austro/Pakistani/African, British/European origins, Miriam Aziz likes to describe her music as "acoustic cinema" which maps the contours of an increasingly globalised and inter-connected world. Her music is reminiscent of the writings of Bruce Chatwin and other travel writers and cuts across customary musical and aesthetic genres. A multi-instrumentalist who is willing to experiment, she has assimilated a variety of musical influences as part of her song writing. Her album "We're Inside Out" was released in 2007 by Women's Voice Productions and her own label, Rock Pixie Records. On October 26, 2009, Miriam released her second album, "TrĂ¡nsito" on Rock Pixie Records and New Music, distributed by EMI Norway AS. Inspired by the myth of Ulysses as she composed the songs, she became preoccupied by the underlying tensions that arise after a return from a journey which makes a further departure immanent, inevitable and inescapable.
