Money Paw was born in Kingston, Jamaica. His parents then moved to the sunshine city of Portmore, St. Catherine. Money Paw spent most of his teen years in Portmore, before later migrating to the U.S.A.
While growing up however, he was no stranger to music. His dad’s twin brother was a recording artist in Jamaica while his dad own a sound system.
Around the age of thirteen (13), Money Paw’s dad thought his son was ready to test the family musical gene. His dad sound system was now his to play with. Paw teamed up with a few neighborhood friends for his journey. While exploring on being a Sound Selector, Money Paw discovered another side of music.
He didn’t feel involved enough as a Selector but found joy in being an Artist. He wrote his first song at age fourteen (14), and never stop. At one point, he was part of a trio group that performed at local bar-B-que in his nationhood.
He later moved to the states. While getting accustom to a new environment and culture difference, music was push to the side.
Now in a new place, Money Paw kept writing songs while pursuing other areas of interest. He would later get that familiar itch he once had as a young teen for music. But this time would be different. He kept his old stage name, started his own label and was producing and recording his own materials.
Money Paw new that, to pursue his passion for dancehall music and his style. Would require him to have his own resources, and to be able to over see his work from his perspective. So, Paw Records was established for that sole purpose.
Paw Records was established in December 2010 by Money Paw. A small independent label base in his apartment. Money Paw over see the beat production, vocals recording, and song production.
He’s not just the CEO, he is also the records label’s first Artist and Producer. So far, the label as release one (1) record on itunes and Amazon and currently working on Paw’s follow up project.
