Biography

Born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois, Morty Shallman has been singing and writing original songs since the age of 12. Shallman is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Chicago, where he studied creative writing with renowned novelist Richard Stern, and where he began exploring the nexus of literature, music and art. After serving as lead singer and songwriter for popular Chicago Rock Band, “Minds of Babes,” Shallman moved to Los Angeles, where he has released several critically acclaimed solo CDs, and continues his career as a recording artist, novelist, and screenwriter.
