The band will be giving away a free download of their first single, “In Tune” on Record Store Day, April 21, 2012. The single will be available for download via the band’s bandcamp page: http://moseywest.bandcamp.com

The album will be officially released on Friday, May 11, 2012 to coincide with the band’s hometown release show at Hodi’s Half Note in Fort Collins, CO.

Mosey West will also play a release show in Denver at the Hi-Dive on Friday, May 25, 2012. MOSEY WEST

Mike McGraw - bass/vox
Adam Brown - guitar/vox/harmonica
Matt Weitz - drums

The three members of Mosey West met through playing music with friends around Fort Collins and formed the band in the fall of 2010. They each shared an addiction for live music and a passion for creating their own. They first called themselves “Merica”, which explains the name of their second EP. The band changed their name to Mosey West in July of 2011.

The band won the Fresh Cuts Challenge presented by the Marquee Magazine and UI Sound Studios in February of 2011. As part of the prize, they were rewarded with studio time to record their debut EP, Vaca Money free of charge.

Vaca Money was recorded in the summer of 2011 at UI Sound Studios in Boulder, CO and was co-produced with Evan Reeves. The self-released, 5 song EP was released on September 30, 2011. The album received excellent reviews including one of the “10 Best Local Albums of 2011” by Marquee Magazine and 4.5 Stars from Scene Magazine.

The release of Vaca Money helped get the band into new markets and larger venues. The band who began playing shows “to get free drinks” found themselves in a position for a larger audience than the local bar. Live, the band’s trademark is sharing songs back-and-forth between the two songwriters, McGraw and Brown. The trio is known for their unique performances, vast selection of original material, soaring harmonies, and live energy on stage. The band who is influenced by notably, the Band, Gram Parsons, Townes Van Zandt, Uncle Tupelo and Neil Young is doing what comes naturally in an effort to write good songs and have good times.

The band won a few other contests in 2011. In November, they won first place in Scene Magazine's 20th Annual Battle of the Bands giving the band more recording time, which they used to begin tracking Merica. A month later, they won the Waka Winter Classic at Hodi’s Half Note in Fort Collins and were granted a spot at the Wakarusa Festival in Ozark, AR.

The band has played at the Fox Theatre, the Aggie Theater, the Hi-Dive, the Larimer Lounge, the Rock Inn, Oskar Blues, Quixotes, the Gryphon Theatre, Waterloo Ice House, and Hodi’s Halfnote. The band has shared the stage with Elliott Brood, Cameron McGill and What Army, Futurebirds, Thomas Hardy of Dead Confederate, the Patti Fiasco, The Changing Colors, the Kentucky Parlor Pickers and Arliss Nancy.
