Musica Gaudeans

Musica Gaudeans (Joyful Music) consisting of flute, oboe, guitar and cello has been performing since 1994. The original repertoire of sonatas and trio sonatas by baroque and classical masters (J. S. Bach, G. P. Telemann, A. Vivaldi, W. A. Mozart, J. J. Quantz ...) has been successfully broadened by pieces of totally different music styles, various transcriptions of romantic and jazz composers (Mussorgsky: "Pictures from an Exhibition"; Corea: "Spain" and "Children’s songs"; suites from Gershwin’s "Porgy & Bess" and Bernstein’s "West Side Story";, etc. ...) as well as contemporary compositions dedicated to the ensemble (Eduard Douša: "Uno Per Quatro"; Pavel Ciboch: "Constellations of the Zodiac", "Arabian Suite"; Karel Janovický: "Quarter for Flute, Oboe, Guitar and Cello”; Max Stern: "Three Songs of Theresienstadt Children"...).
Using two melodic instruments (flute, oboe) and basso continuo (cello, guitar) Musica Gaudeans performs its music with joy and optimism as witnessed by the audience not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Germany, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Greece, and Slovakia.
