Musical Care

Est. 1999, Musical Care is the music of songwriter Ryan Jebavy. Growing up near Milwaukee, WI, Ryan soon formed heavy influences from classical, new age and jazz music, including Shostakovich, Philip Glass, Ray Lynch and Yusef Lateef. After relocating to Los Angeles in 1998 for art school, he became drawn to a broader spectrum of rock, electronic and world music (such as Cocteau Twins, Laurie Spiegel and Mulatu Astatke) and began to record under the moniker Musical Care. In 2003 and 2004, Ryan was selected by the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for Best Rock Song, runner-up ("Forgotten") and Best Rock song, honorable mention ("Your Color Thief"), respectively. Throughout the '00s, he performed and scored for a few films (Dragon Fighter, Uninformed Consent) and was a member of indie bands Nitetime and Never at Night. Currently, he continues to make strange sounds as Musical Care while moonlighting as a music librarian, curator and editor in California.
