My name is Natalia and I live in CT for most of my life previously Brooklyn NY. I grew up in the West end of Hartford which too many is a "stone throws" from West Hartford, CT which is a good county. However I was not born rich, nor wealthy not so poor that I couldn't eat but I managed to get myself on the right track, by joining many groups in high school such as the Soccer team, basketball, baseball, honor society and Police explorers program. I did all these things to give me a taste for life and my future. On my last year of high school I eventually decline a soccer scholarship stayed locally graduated the community college with two associates, liberal arts and social science. My daughter is my inspiration and that is why I am finishing up my Social science degree currently.
I joined the Army in 2002, Nevertheless, In 2007 I had a chance to deploy and it was a life changing experience. I had a great time gaining new knowledge and meeting different cultures and with hard work and dedication I obtained supervisory recognition as the leading Human Resource SSG, Equal opportunity leader that allows me to deal with a variety of situations when it comes to the political side of things. On the weekdays I am a unit administrator so I am in my job mostly everyday M-S. Contingency speaking my plan for the future is to work the Government for human rights or anywhere I can make a difference in someone's life.
These poems are a reflection of my journey in life, before my decision to join the United States Army and during my year and a half deployment from 2007 - 2008 OEF/OIF. However when I returned home I put the Pen,pencil and paper away after redeploying, and just recently decided to let my mind go and allow everyone to read my thoughts.
