Currently an independent and unsigned artist, Nathan Speir is a pianist and composer who began learning his instrument and craft at the age of eight years. Nathan completed his first fully written composition at age twelve and later received a bachelors in music theory and composition in 2004 from Palm Beach Atlantic University.He then self released his first electronic instrumental album Between Earth & Sky in 2006 .A few years later, after starting a family, Nathan visited his former university in West Palm Beach, FL where he recorded his second album Nathan's Piano - a purely solo piano recording.
In 2012, Nathan has since produced two more albums. In early 2012 he finished another electronic instrumental featuring piano, Brighter Days. Finally, in the autumn all of 2012 A Day of Poetry, the newest release to date, possesses a refined depth of emotional expression, production quality, and compositional achievement. A Day of Poetry features piano and digitally sampled string instrument accompaniment.
Nathan has drawn his original style from his influence from the classical and jazz composers as well as many of the new age artists such as Yianni, George Winston, Enigma, Patrick OHearn, Enya, Tangerine Dream, Steve Roach, and Vangelis. Since his first listening to the Hearts of Space and Echoes radio program aired on NPR in 1995, Nathan Speir has joined the trek of timeless music of the heart and soul.
Originally from Southern California, the artist currently resides in North Carolina where he continues to refine and explore his potential in music, visual art, teaching, spirituality, and electrical construction.
