Nuno Pinto & Elsa Silva

Nuno Pinto and Elsa Silva belong to a new generation of portuguese musicians with given proof of capacity, competence and versatility. Owning a vaste experience in concert field either as soloists or chamber musicians (in classical and contemporary repertoire) these musicians seek to find visibility to a musical partnership that has been lasting for many years.
Having studied together in the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo (ESMAE) in Oporto, their mutual musical experience developed and improved in ensembles such as OrchestrUtopica, devoted to contemporary music and Camerata Senza Misura, chamber group with a mixed repertoire that goes from the classical period until nowadays.
This duo has also been gaining experience in ESMAE, where Nuno Pinto teaches the clarinet class since 1997 and Elsa Silva is that class’ accompanist since 2004.
The vaste repertoire of this duet includes some of the most important works for this formation, going from the classical period until the contemporary. In spite of the huge amount of original works for clarinet and piano Nuno Pinto e Elsa Silva seek to expand horizonts by challenging new composers to write for the duo and also by adapting works originally written for other instruments, therefore enlarging their repertoire with new composers and styles. Their concert programs are built in a creative and pedagogic manner, always regarding the audience perspective.
