Oddfellows are a psychedelta blues rock band from Lafayette, Louisiana. Their music is a mix of classic and modern fused with driving drum rhythms, spaced-out keys, and blues inspired vocal melodies.
Oddfellows is five piece band from Crowley, Louisiana and is composed of all home-town friends. The band started in 2011 with five original members. These five members released a live-recorded EP in February of 2013. Following the release of their EP, they picked up a full time keyboard player and a secondary percussionist, both child-hood friends as well. The band started recording an album in August of 2013 at Smoke Bend studios in Crowley. Unfortunately in April of 2014 the recording was put on hold due to the original singer and the original guitar player leaving the band. The remaining members Samuel Graf, Austin Bailey, Charles Ropp, John Core, and new guitar player Matthew Leleux moved to a cabin in the Atchafalaya Basin, for the summer, to write new material and rewrite their previously recorded material. In mid August, the band moved back home to start recording NOVO. Determined to record and release the new album completely independent, the band turned John’s one bedroom home into a jam space and recording studio. With the help of friends, family, and good times, they finished recording the album in April of 2015. The new album NOVO, is set to be released May 5, 2015.
Oddfellows have performed at venues around Louisiana including Artmosphere, Grant Street Dancehall, Jefferson Street Pub, The Howlin Wolf, and The District. They have also performed in Austin, TX at venues including Hotel Vegas, Gypsy Lounge, Lucky Lounge, and Posse East.
By opening for national acts including The Revivalists and Nothing More, they have built a strong local/regional following.
In 2012, Oddfellows made their festival debut at South By Southwest in Austin, TX. They have also performed at festivals within the state including Festival International de Louisiane and The International Rice Festival.
