With the introduction to music such as Marvin Gaye, Patti Labelle, Earth Wind and Fire a foundation was set in his heart. Nothing influenced him though like the late great Michael Jackson, who to this day is his musical deity. Hip Hop would give Omar A his path though to his sound and identity as an artist, with nothing making a larger impact than Jay-Z and ROC a Fella records, The Notorious B.I.G, P. Diddy and the whole BAD BOY sound of the mid to late 90’s. With saving the best for last, Boyz to Men and Jodeci set the groundwork and foundation of what Omar A. envisioned himself as when it was his turn to entertain the world. Early on in welding class at Maustbaum High School in Philly, Omar and classmates would use their lack of welding skills to rehearse over and over specifically “On Bended Knee”, “I’ll Make Love to You” and “Feenin” by Boyz to Men and Jodeci respectively.
