Opaque Stutters

Opaque Stutters is the electronic/synthpop project of Los Angeles-based singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Brian Cohen, founded in 2013. Although Opaque Stutters was originally conceived as an alternative rock project, after releasing Opaque Stutters’s 2013 debut EP in this style and playing a handful of promotional shows, Cohen decided to move Opaque Stutters in the direction of electronic music, drawing inspiration from diverse influences ranging from Nine Inch Nails and Throbbing Gristle to Heaven 17, Prince, and Grimes. He released the latest Opaque Stutters single, “Love Is True,” a catchy synthpop track, in June 2015 in anticipation of his upcoming EP, “Lost In Thought,” due for release in July 2015. Cohen is currently working on the first full-length Opaque Stutters album, which is tentatively set for release in early 2016. In addition to being influenced by many styles of music, Cohen cites various film influences, such as John Schlesinger’s Darling, Larry Clark’s Bully, Wong Kar Wai’s Happy Together, John Woo’s Hard Boiled, and the anime film Ghost in the Shell. - See more at:
