Ensemble Parnassos was founded in 2002 by a groups of talented Polish musicians wanting to perform music written in XVII and XVII century in a historically informed way on adequate instruments.
Members of the ensemble studied then on Early Music departments of Academy of Music in Wrocław (Poland), Universität der Künste Berlin, Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels and Den Haag.
At the moment Parnassos is one of the leading young early music chamber groups in Poland. They perform regularly on many festivals in Poland and abroad, among all: Międzynarodowy Festiwal Muzyki Organowej i Kameralnej w Leżajsku, II Festiwal Muzyki Kameralnej w Katowicach, Festiwal Chanterelle, Muzyczne Wieczory na Salwatorze, Podgórska Jesień Kulturalna, Mikołowskie Dni Muzyki, Spotkania z Muzyką Dawnych Wieków, Festival Baroque d'Auvergne and Festival de la Vezere.
Parnassos has successfully invited Barthold Kuijken and Simon Standage to play with them in Poland. The ensemble also cooperates with renowned Polish musicians, such as Dariusz Paradowski, Piotr Olech, Jan Tomasz Adamus and Karolina Brachman.
In addition to this members of the ensemble play in many Polish and European Early Music groups, such as Arte dei Suonatori, Harmonologia, Concerto Polacco, Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Le Cercle de l’Harmonie, Le Parlement de Musique, European Union Baroque Orchestra.
In year 2004 members of the ensemble and Karolina Brachman won second prize on chamber music competition Concerto Barocco in Wuppertal.
In year 2007 first CD of the ensemble – “O beautiful time! O evening hour!” was published.
