I have been a Guitar freak and guitarist/ producer in bands for as long as I can remember, before the guitar it was the tennis racket, to which I was quite an accomplished player (racket not tennis). After record deals failing though egos and ownership dampening my drive i decided to jump out of the rat race for a while and study Guitar and the industry in earnest, this led me to Berklee School Of Music.
Studying under Berklee was a massive eye and ear opener as I was rubbing shoulders with not only the most accomplished players in the industry new and old but also hearing them talk about their experiences in such a transparent and supportive way. This inspired me to look at going out on my own and produce my own work; My confidence to do this has been lifted further by my finishing my Berklee studies with tuition from Steve Vai (Yes- THE Steve Vai!!) Rick Peckham, Thaddeus Hogarth (to name but a few) plus achieving straight As and then winning the first Steve Vai Scholarship to be awarded from Steve and Berklee.
This has just made me more driven to not listen to the "you can't do it" inner critic in my head and press the GO button on my musical future as an instrumental Guitarist and retaining my humble approach to this game we call music.
Recently I have teamed up "Rob Chapman" aka "Monkey Lord" as a pocket management artist and tour support/tech for him (Dorje) and Phil X (The Drills) on the Zombie Apocalypse (2012) and DD (2013) tours in the Uk, this brethren has set me in a good group of like minded artists who appreciate the Guitar and Guitar music plus have been beautiful guides in the whole digital media worlds-YouTube, facebook etc etc long may this relationship blossom and bloom.
As you may have read at the start of this self indulgent rambling lol i am a guitar freak, what does this mean? well i eat, sleep, work and dream in and around Guitars. When i am not writing for myself and others i teach in the best independent music academies in the North West and have to date about 60 students weekly and believe me they keep me on my toes technically. After that me and my videographer and hombre Chris Bibby of 'Shoots You photography' have an ever growing youtube channel (TheZombie1976) dedicated to demos, lessons, reviews, tech lessons etc that is growing at a substantial rate. We also do demos for local and international stores and product companies allowing us to get our hands on exclusive products for Guitarporn junkies and GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome) sufferers.
After that im sure you guys and dolls get my picture, a normal guy with a lust to produce good wholesome brews of groove and power for your ears and mine....
Peace and light brothers and sisters.
