BIOGRAPHY
Paul Koenig has been writing and performing his own music since 1974. Musical influences include John Prine, Bob Dylan, and The Beatles with genres from Folk to Country to Contemporary Christian and Children's music. He hails from eastern Wisconsin [Cleveland, near Sheboygan]. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology Education in 1978 from UW-Eau Claire and a Masters of Education in Science from the University of Minnesota. In the 80's he focused on Country [co-writing Slow Country Music for the musical Easy Does the Stars] writing dozens of songs. In the early 90's he wrote children's music and recorded New Songs for Kids [Paul Koenig & Friends]. In the mid 90's he began writing Biology songs for his Biology classes and finally released the CD his students had asked for, Bio-io-ology, with the help of friends and friends of friends. He has has been involved in education in the Osseo School District for 34 years. He has a wife [Jeannie] and two children [Heather and Dan]. Since 1981 he has been involved off and on in various music ministries at St. Joseph's Parish Community [New Hope, Minnesota]. His other interests include, archery, golf, fishing, reading, walking, and riding a bicycle. With over 100 songs backlogged for recording look for more releases in the future.
