Paul Santa Maria

Paul was "born" at age 10 in February of 1964 when the Beatles hit the Ed Sullivan stage. At age 11, he received his first guitar, a Stella from Sears! While that guitar was smashed in some teenage angst, the custom 1977 Gibson Les Paul he plays guitar and bass with now is all that matters...unless you consider his 1968 Gibson Johnny Smith which "Invention w/ Larry Coryell" was recorded with, or his 1961 Gibson SG Standard (which most of The "Timbercats" was recorded with,) or his original MusicMan StingRay bass (which is on every one of his 27 CD's!) Presently, Paul plays gigs all over da place and thrills audiences with his guitar skills which do NOT include shredding, opting instead for tasteful melodic playing with bursts of speed that are dizzying to other guitarists and audiences everywhere. He has authored a book called "The Guitar Explained" which is available on CD Baby as a CD EXTRA (29 songs playable as normal or downloadable/streamed one-by-one) with the entire 40-page book accessible through one's computer (not downloadable from CD Baby [sorry!], but available by itself at www.TheGuitarExplained.com.) So audition away, kids and check out the diversity of this man, who plays every instrument, records everything, does the graphic artwork as well and, except for his CD of songs done with women vocalists, sings every part as well.
