Paula Lane, born in Jacksonville, Florida, is a singer, songwriter and resophonic guitar player. She became interested in bluegrass music after moving to Southern California in 1978. Her first exposure to the music was the Dillards and Seldom Scene. Mike Auldridge’s playing inspired her to learn resonator guitar. She bought a “Dobro” for a Christmas present in 1984 and decided that this was the instrument she was meant to play. She is greatly influenced by the music of Jerry Douglas, Rob Ickes, Gillian Welch, Lynn Morris, Alison Krauss and many others. She has played with several bands, including bluegrass bands, High Cotton, Girls with Guitars, Misbehavin’ and This Just In!
