Pedro Giraudo

Originally from Córdoba Argentina, Pedro Giraudo moved to New York City in 1996. Since then he has become an in-demand bass player playing in a great variety of musical projects in the City, but specializing in the musics of Latin America. As a bassist and/or arranger Pedro Giraudo has performed with Pablo Ziegler (Astor Piazzolla), Kenny Garrett (Miles Davis), & William Cepeda (Dizzy Gillespie). Pedro Giraudo has participated in various Jazz and Music Festivals throughout the United States, Europe, South America, the Caribbean and Asia, and performed in venues such as The Blue Note (Japan), Birdland (Vienna), Kennedy Center (Washington DC), Iridium, Jazz Standard, Blue Note, Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall (NYC).
Since 2000, Pedro Giraudo leads his own group the Pedro Giraudo Jazz Orchestra for which he composes and arranges. These ensembles showcase compositions which combine Pedro Giraudo's loves of the Argentine tango and folk music, classical music, and the spontaneity of jazz improvisation. He has released four critically acclaimed CDs: ‘Destiny of Flowers’ (2002), ‘Mr Vivo’ (2002), ‘Desconsuelo’ (2005), and ‘El Viaje’ (2009); and performs regularly in the most prestigious jazz clubs in the New York City area as well as abroad. Recently Pedro Giraudo was awarded the large ensemble composition commission by the Jazz Gallery.
