Perpetuate

Perpetuate is a heavy metal band hailing from Windsor, Ontario, active from 2010-2013. Guitarists Jamie Hush and Chris Rafinski join forces with drummer Mike Wiznuk and Calvin Love on bass to deliver hard-hitting, high-energy tunes reminiscent of metal’s golden age. The band is fronted by keyboardist Kim McInnis, whose voice weaves beauty and aggression into soaring soprano melodies over a roaring symphony of guitars. With classical inspiration and strong influences in modern metal and progressive music, Perpetuate is seeking the perfect balance of technicality and clarity in song-writing.

In April 2011, Perpetuate released their debut CD, produced by Glenn Fricker of Spectre Sound. The self-titled mini-album features five original tracks and a guest appearance by Betrayer’s Jeff Klingbeil, who lends his voice to an unforgettable cover of “The Trooper” by Iron Maiden. The lead single “Above and Beyond” premiered May 2012 in an eye-catching video that serves a great introduction to the band’s visual style. Perpetuate is now available from CDN Records, Century Media Distro, and digital music retailers everywhere.

Perpetuate has been fortunate to share the stage with some of Ontario’s favourite metal and hard rock acts, including Baptized in Blood, Hail the Villain, Today I Caught the Plague, and the legendary Anvil.

In January 2013, Perpetuate announced that the band would be parting ways, but not before releasing one final single. “Defy You” is the culminating anthem that defines Perpetuate’s vision and promise of the future as Kim, Jamie, Chris, Calvin, and Mike move on to new projects and partnerships. Listen to “Defy You” on SoundCloud and iTunes, and keep watching for what comes next!
