Pete Martin

I am from Salford in the North West of England, close to Manchester but now live 20 miles away in Rawtenstall. I like many different kinds of music but my favourite is 60s music - especially Beatles. I write songs mostly for my own amusement but, thanks to CD Baby, I have been inflicting some of them on the general public, world-wide, for several years now. My songs vary from a song about a man I knew who became famous in England then throughout the world as a steeplejack - Fred Dibnah, to a song about the victims of an air crash in 1958 that tore apart the Manchester United team, then there is a song about a Totem Pole that was given to Salford and is in the process of being restored before it is re-erected in Salford. A friend of mine, Tom Clare who lives in Texas, sent me some lyrics he had written about his big hero who dies as a result of the air crash just mentioned. His name was Duncan Edwards and is often described as the best footballer who ever lived. I put music to Tom's lyrics and have released that song through CD Baby along with another of Tom's set of lyrics for the Dynamo soccer team from Houston. This last one is set to the traditional tune of "The Yellow Rose Of Texas". I hope you find something to enjoy here. Thanks very much for your interest in reading thus far.
