Biography

Petey Lightning is a solo Indie artist from Upstate NY. He is a veteran of the Bar Band circuit in the Central and Upstate New York area, near Syracuse. He went out on his own to record solo, to try and find his true Rock and Roll roots, and get away from the cover band scene forever. His music echoes his heroes, from the ones who founded Rock and Roll in the 50's, to the groups who carry on real Rock and Roll tradition today. His all original Garage Rock is influenced greatly by guitarists like Chuck Berry, and Keith Richards, and the British Invasion groups that blasted Power Pop over the American airwaves in the 60's, as well as those artists like The New York Dolls, The Ramones, and Bruce Springsteen, who kept Rock and Roll alive and well by their spirit and music throughout the years. The common musical thread that runs through all these artists, runs through the Revved up Garage Rock and Roll of Petey Lightning and the Pirates. Petey and his bandmates, bassist Phil Norman, and drummer Kirk Torok perform all around New York.....Come see them and experience real Rock n Roll.....the way it is supposed to be !
