Phat Cat Swinger

Imagine what swing would sound like if The Avengers and other comic book heroes could play instruments? Phat Cat Swinger is made up of 9 very individual musicians who all bring something to the table and create a party every time they walk in a room. Their music is fused with the influence of growing up with Rock, Hip Hop, Reggae, Big Band, and Pop.

Much like The Avengers in their history, the band has gone through their share of lineup changes that eventually brought on the fresh talents of vocalist, Douglas Roegiers. Douglas contributes a very new style and charisma to the band's already intense energy. On the same night he joined forces with Phat Cat Swinger, David Ingram and Ace Anderson brought their flash and powers to the PCS rhythm section. It was the beginning of the band's evolution. The chemistry felt that night was something new that the original members had not experienced in a long time. Horn lines became tighter, the rhythm section starting gellin' like Magellan, and shortly after they brought out their biggest secret weapon to date... "You've got an orchestra? Well, we've got a Hulk. We call him Chops." David "Chops" Velasquez, also known as "El Mariachi," brought his mighty trumpet on board when the band flew out for a performance of epic proportions in Leipzig, Germany. The band is now an explosive combination whenever they unite on any stage.

As the band evolves, their sound grows into something that they never expected. It's big, it's got punch, and they just go "balls to the wall" with the intent to stand in their own category of entertainment. "We respect your grandpa and grandma's swing, but this ain't it, kid. We'll play Sinatra, Darin and Prima... But we're here to keep the music alive and constantly evolving."

The band's soon to be released album, "Swing In Evolution" is the best capture of the band's energy source and sound all into a studio recording. Even then, you cannot not know what it is really like until you experience the band in person. The band believes that a studio recording is one type of performance, but when you engage an audience... It's time to give them a whole new experience.
