Any musical genre is fair game. Since music is an emotional experience, I experience a very wide range of emotions. So the music is a flow and continuum that tells stories and delivers messages from the heart. It's kind of like a soundtrack for Attention Deficit Disorder. Primary playing style is Progressive Rock, but can branch into Heavy Metal, Hip-Hop/Rap, New Age/Ambient and others. If a band into any of that is looking for a keyboard player, I can take that band to the next level. Equipment includes a Korg M3 workstation with Radias synthesizer, Korg MS2000, Casio CTK610, and assorted analog percussion. I currently perform solo using a Yamaha MW10c mixer into a PC for mastering. For Dream Chasers I started using Audacity mastering software.
Musical influences include my favorite bands like Yes, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Queen and Genesis. Other heavy influences include Dream Theater, Spock's Beard, Metallica, The B-52s, Queens of the Stone Age, Bruce Springsteen, Meat Loaf, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Weird Al Yankovic and probably others. How all that resulted in a similarity to Frank Zappa is beyond me. :-) I see the parallel and enjoy Zappa's music, but can't rightly call myself a fan.
There are many TV/pop culture influences in my life, and by extension, my music. They include Star Trek, Mystery Science Theater 3000, M*A*S*H, Xena & Hercules, Monty Python, Firefly, Whose Line Is It Anyway, a bizarre little movie called The Forbidden Zone and now my wife is getting me into Lost. Is it wrong for me to like the movie Rollerball 2000? Also, just living in West Seattle has been inspirational. This is a beautiful place to live with wonderful people.
Attention Deficit Disorder results in occasions where focus is difficult, as well as periods of very sharp focus. Another result of the rapid brain activity is strong imagination and sense of humor. Hopefully you'll find all that conveyed throughout my music.
