June 2011 - UK, South-East - unsigned Rock group Pint Size Hero are preparing to release their first effort into the marketplace in the form of debut album Get Your Kicks. You’d be forgiven for wondering why this event is any different to that of any other unsigned group doing the local circuit and trying to make a name for themselves. In-fact, Pint Size Hero are that band - having spent several years honing their talents and cutting their teeth playing adrenaline-fueled Rock n Roll, they’ve already proved they have the bug for live performance and the staying power to survive the relentless grind that is ‘trying to make it’.
Here’s the difference:- this group have just 100% self funded the recording of their debut album and are now about to show the world just what can be done with a lot of hard graft, a small studio and a sprinkling of fairy dust from 4 regular humans with a passion for music.
Take opening track “Coda”, which immediately sets the scene for the whole record. From the moment the track plays you get classic Rock n Roll; dirty guitars, slick bass and driving drums with the whole intro feeling like a Led-Zeppelin riff on steroids - clearly this track has been written solely for the purpose of immediately grabbing the curious listener, and it does! Venture a little further into the track and you get a verse which gears down a notch as psychedelic guitars loop in and around whilst Chris Howley’s vocals perch on top with a Robert Plant-like quality - only for everything to be cranked right back up to 10 again for a chorus that would well suited to a stadium of 20,000 people, although for the moment at least this remains on the ‘to-do’ list for this up and coming Rock band.
Get Your Kicks exposes pure creative talent and will no doubt lead to greater things in the future for these guys, give it a spin and see for yourself...
Get Your Kicks is released on 24th June, available everywhere.
